2564th Buddha Anniversary and 3rd International Buddhist Conference 2020

Lord Buddha was born to mother Mayadevi in Lumbini Nepal while going to her maternal home in Devadaha. According to various Buddhist literatures newly-born Sakyamuni Buddha had walked seven steps so it is believed that the Buddha was born with divine power and talents. Hence Buddhism is considered to have propounded along with birth of the Buddha. The Buddha was born on Baisakh Purnima (full moon day of first month of Nepali calendar) of 623 BC. He got enlightenment on Baisakh Purnima of 588 BC and entered into Mahaparinirvana (demise) on Baisakh Purnima of 543 BC. Baisakh Purnima is therefore, the threefold blessed day, the day of the Buddha's birth, enlightenment and passing away.
