Sep. 27, 2018, Lumbini: World Tourism Day 2018 was observed today in Lumbini. World Tourism Day 2018 is being celebrated globally in the theme, “The importance of digital technologies in tourism, providing opportunities for innovation and preparing the sector for the future of work.” Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) has prompted internet presence for promotion of historic Buddhist sites of Greater Lumbini Area and Buddhism in line with the theme of Tourism Day 2018. 

Chinese visitors Yang Yun Hui, Yu Qian and Yu Zhang Kai arrived Mayadevi Temple early in the morning today. First Lumbini arriving three foreign tourists were welcomed by LDT officials in the lead of Project Chief Er. Saroj Bhattarai. The guests were given away the token of love from behalf of the Trust that included Nepali cap, Khada (Buddhist scarf) and Buddha image. The Trust had also granted free entry to the first comers. Information Chief Hari D. Rai explained the history, archaeology and spirituality of Lumbini to the guests.   The guests were very happy to receive warm welcome and appreciated the serenity and spiritual gravity of Lumbini.
