September 21, 2019; Lumbini: Constitution Day and National Day-2076 was marked at the birthplace of Lord Buddha Lumbini with candle lighting and tree plantation programs. Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment of Province 5, Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture & Co-operative of Province 5, Lumbini Development Trust and Nepal Army organized the plantation program on 21st September near World Peace Stupa. Chief Guest Hon. Chief Minister of Province 5 Shankar Pokharel inaugurated the plantation program by planting a mango tree in the garden. Addressing the audience, he stressed on replacing the existing non-fruit bearing trees with the fruit bear tree samplings in the Lumbini Master Plan area. He suggested to complete the fruit tree plantation work within two years. Hon. Chief Minister also emphasized the significance of the current Constitution of Nepal for every citizen of Nepal.
Tourism Minister Hon. Lila Giri, Agriculture Minister Hon. Arati Paudel, member of National Assembly Hon. Durga Prasad Upadhyay, member of Province 5 parliament Hon. Fakharuddin Khan, Mayor of Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality Mr. Manmohan Chaudhary, Acting Member Secretary of Lumbini Development Trust Mr. Saroj Bhattarai and staffs of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and LDT were present on the occasion. 120 fruit saplings of Mango, Lemon, Litchi, Jamun were planted on the occasion.
Similarly, to celebrate the Constitution Day candle lighting program was organized in the premises of Mayadevi Temple on 20th September. LDT board members and staffs were present of the candle lighting ceremony to mark the fourth Constitution Day of Nepal.
