Lumbini: Delegates from Myanmar, Bhutan, and Cambodia visited the birthplace of Sakyamuni Buddha, Lumbini today. Hon. Ohn Maung, Tourism Minister of Myanmar, Mr. Dorji Dhradhul, Director-General of Tourism Council Bhutan, Seila Hul, Advisor to the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and other delegates visited Lumbini and Kapilavastu on 2nd January 2020. Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment, Member of Parliament Hon. Fakhruddin Khan and Principal Secretary of Province No. 5, Mayor of Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality, board members and staff of LDT welcomed the delegates in Lumbini.
The delegate observed the Eternal Peace Flame, Central Canal and walked to Mayadevi Temple to pay homage to the birthplace of Sakyamni Buddha in Lumbini. After visiting various archaeological and historical sites of Lumbini the delegates also participated in a puja program at the vicinity of the Sacred complex of Mayadevi temple. The delegates expressed immense joy by visiting the birthplace of Lord Buddha and assured for the promotion of Lumbini in their respective countries. After taking part in the inaugural ceremony of Visit Nepal 2020, the delegation had visited Lumbini and Kapilavastu.
The office of Chief Minister of Province No. 5 had hosted lunch to the delegates in Lumbini before flying for Kapilavastu in a helicopter.
