Lumbini, Sept. 18, 20211: Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Hon. Kul Bahadur KC visited Lumbini. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Tourism and Urban Development Minister Hon. Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, Hon. Fakhruddin Khan and other delegates. Lumbini Development Trust welcomed the guest in Lumbini. Information Chief Dr. Hari Rai explain religious, archaeological and spiritual significance of Lumbini to guests.
“Lumbini is the holy birthplace of Lord Sakyamuni and world heritage property with outstanding universal value; Lumbini Province government is keen to work for its development and promotion”, the Chief Minister KC said. He further added the Province government was ready to assist develop Lumbini into world class cultural city.
Tourism Minister Chaudhary expressed keen interest of the Province government in development and promotion of Lumbini world heritage property. He opined that Lumbini and other Buddhist heritages lying in Kapilavastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparasi could be promoted into spiritual tourism destination with the collective effort of all stakeholders.
LDT Vice Chairman Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta (Awadesh Tripathi) informed that the implementation of Lumbini Master Plan would complete soon. He requested Lumbini Province Government to focus in infrastructure development of Kapilavastu, Devadaha and Ramagrama sites.
Member Secretary of the Trust Mr. Sanuraja Sakya appealed for cooperation and coordination in development, promotion and management significant Buddhist heritages of Greater Lumbini.
Treasurer of Trust Mr. Surendramuni Sakya said that Covid-19 had slashed tourism and economy of LDT. He urged the Province Government for financial assistance in such circumstances to continue development and administrative initiative in Lumbini.
Project Manager Er. Saroj Bhattarai presented recent development activities and future plans to the delegation amid a program.
