Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister and Chairman of Lumbini Development Trust Hon’ble Prem Bahadur Ale visited Lumbini on Jan. 7, 2022. The minister inspected the development projects being carried out by the Trust to complete Lumbini Master Plan and conserve Buddhist heritages lying in the Greater Lumbini Area.
LDT officials including Treasurer Surendramuni Sakya, Admin Chief Gyanin Rai, Board Members Rajesh Gyawali, Shreeram Yadav, Insaf Musalman, Baij Nath Sahani, Chief Archaeologist Himal Upreti, Information Officer Khagendra Kafle, Forest Officer Kamlesh Kumar Verma and LDT Union Chairman Rajan Basnet welcomed the minister and his delegates in Lumbini. Member Secretary Mr. Sanuraja Sakya, Project Chief Er. Saroj Bhattarai and Infromation and PR Chief Dr. Hari Dhoj Rai briefed and minister about history, archaeology and tourism of Lumbini and major sites that are associated with life of Sakyamuni Buddha.
The minister visited Mayadevi Temple and paid homage to birthplace of the Buddha. He also observed Lumbini monastic zone during his two day visit.
Minister Ale also laid the foundation stone of Gate No. 2 and road construction. The LDT is implementing several projects of roads, sewage system and green parks under current package of initiatives. The minister assured the adequacy of budget for the development of historic sites of Greater Lumbini Area. The minister also instructed the LDT officials to develop and promotes all historic sites in a balanced manner.
