Lumbini: A delegation led by Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Mr. Maheshor Neupane visited Lumbini and Kapilavastu on February 27, 2022. The secretary was accompanied by Joint Secretary Dr. Tokraj Pandey, Head of Aviation Division at the Ministry Mr. Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, Director General of Department of Archaeology Mr. Damodar Gautam and Director General of Department of Tourism Mr. Taranath Adhikari.   

The purpose of the visit was to observe Tilaurakot which is being nominated in World Heritage Lists and inspection of development and research activities carried out by LDT and DoA. Progress on Tilaurakot research, land acquisition and World Heritage nomination initiatives was briefed by Mr. Ram Bahadur Kunwar, Chief Archaeological Officer, DoA and Mr. Gyanin Rai Chief of the Administration and Management Division, LDT. 

The delegation discussed with LDT Vice Chairman Ven. Metteyya, Member Secretary Mr. Sanuraja Shakya, and Mr. Damodar Gautam DG-DoA.  Chief District Officer and Superintendent of Police of Kapilavastu district also participated the discussion at Tilaurakot.
