Lumbini: March 1, 20222: Newly appointed officials of Lumbini Development Trust were welcomed in the Trust amid a formal program. Nine council members including Treasurer Dhundiraj Bhattarai (Siddhicharan Bhattarai) were appointed by the government of Nepal on February 17, 2022. The officials have been appointed for the tenure of five years. The government has recently appointed Rajesh Sakya, Netra Bahadur Shahi, Shreeram Yadav, Ram Nanesh Prasad Kohar, Prakash Bhattarai, Gopi Krishna Sharma, Bishwaraj Paudel, and Dhanraj Kandel as the council member of the Trust. 
Welcoming the new members, Member Secretary of Trust Sanuraja Sakya said, “We are proud officials to have opportunity to work in the holy birthplace of the Buddha.” He said that the Trust had challenges to complete Lumbini Master Plan and to develop and promote Greater Lumbini Area. He expressed hope to overcome the challenges with the help of teamwork and team spirit of newly appointed officials. He wished for a successful tenure to the new members. 

Vice Chairman of the Trust Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta (Awadhesh Tripathi) extended the warmest welcome to the new officials as the family member of the Trust. The Vice Chair opined that to work in the Trust is full of opportunities and challenges. He further added the LDT should work as per the laws and bylaws to achieved specific and predetermined goals. He requested the newly appointed officials to study Buddhism, history and archaeology of Greater Lumbini Area and the laws of the Trust to be able harness the possibilities.  “Government of Nepal is committed to complete Lumbini Master Plan. But we should equally be industrious to design the master plans of all prominent Buddhist sites under Trust’s jurisdiction in Kapilavastu, Devadaha and Ramagrama and implement them properly”, he said. 

All newly appointed members including Treasurer Bhattarai had introduced themselves and shared their experience and field of expertise in the program. 

Dr. Bal Krishna Chapagain, Former Member of Parliament Aditya Narayan Kasodhan and Dr. Gitu Giri also extended warm welcome to wished for successful tenure to the newly appointed officials. 

The program was conducted Chief of Adminitration Gyanin Rai while Chairman of Lumbini Development Trust Union Rajan Basnet had delivered welcome speech in the program.
