A forty member Buddhist Delegation of China visited Lumbini on 17th March, 2023. The delegation was led by the Chairman of International Buddhist Center Steward and Buddhist monk Ven. Xian Ping.
Vice Chairman Ven. Metteyya, Treasurer Dhundiraj Bhattarai, Member Secretary Sanuraja Shakya, Executive Board Members Rajesh Shakya and Netra Shahi of Lumbini Development Trust offered Khada (Buddhist scarf) and welcomed the delegation Lumbini. Senior Nepali monks prayed for the wellbeing of the Chinese delegation and world peace on the occasion.
Information Chief Dr. Hari D. Rai briefed the guests about the religious gravity, spiritual significance and archaeological monuments of Lumbini.
The delegation worshiped the holy birthplace of the Buddha, observed ancient monuments and prayed for world peace in the vicinity of Mayadevi Temple. The delegation also visited Kapilavastu where the team is planning the tallest Buddha state in future.
