STATE MINISTER SIRPALI VISITED LUMBINI

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation State Minister Hon. Sushila Sirpali Thakuri visited Lumbini on April 9, 2023. Lumbini Development Trust is administered under the aegis of the Culture Ministry. The LDT welcomed her delegation on her first visit after her appointment as the state minister. Vice Chairman Ven. Metteyya, Member Secretary Sanuraja Shakya, Executive Board Member Biswaraj Poudel, Council Member Shree Ram Yadav and LDT officials welcomed her in Lumbini.

The State Minister Sirpali paid homage to the holy birthplace of the Buddha in Mayadevi Temple and witnessed the Buddhist heritages in the Mayadevi Temple complex. Information Chief Dr. Hari Dhoj Rai explained to her the historicity and spirituality of Lumbini as a UNESCO World Heritage property.

Hon. Sirpali rode a boat in the Central Canal and visited Thai Monastery in the Lumbini Monastic Zone. The State Minister Sirpali said that she would work for promotion and development of the Lumbini and other Buddhist heritages in the Greater Lumbini Area. She was accompanied by Central Committee Member of Maoist Party Kismat Biswakarma and Press Coordinator Gopi Gyawali.
