Lumbini, Nepal - In a diplomatic and cultural endeavor, the Indonesian Ambassador to Nepal, HE Heru Hartauto Subolo, embarked on a momentous visit to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha today. This visit aims to strengthen the bilateral ties between Indonesia and Nepal, while also showcasing Indonesia's deep respect for Buddhism and the spiritual significance of Lumbini.

Upon his arrival, Ambassador Subolo was warmly received by the members of the Lumbini Development Trust, FNCCI, Rupandehi Chapter, and Lumbini Hotel Association. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed his eagerness to explore the revered destination.

During his visit, Ambassador Subolo paid his respects at the Mayadevi temple, the central shrine at Lumbini where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as Lord Buddha. He also visited Lumbini Monastic zone.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Administration Chief Gyanin Rai and Information Officer Rajan Basnet of the Lumbini Development Trust, who provided him with insights into the historical and cultural significance of the temple.
