Welcome to the Chinese Team

Lumbini, December 27, 2023: The Lumbini Development Trust has welcomed a visiting Chinese team that arrived for a pilgrimage to the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini. Dhundiraj Bhattarai (Siddhicharan), the Treasurer of the Trust, welcomed the team, which included scholars working in the field of literature in China, along with other members.

During the occasion, Treasurer Bhattarai spoke about the longstanding relationship between Nepal and China. He highlighted the significant contributions made by Chinese pilgrims in the exploration and research of the birthplace of Buddha in Lumbini. Considering the substantial number of Buddhists in China, he also encouraged them to visit Lumbini. Additionally, commercial prospects were discussed, as the Chinese team expressed interest in collaborating with Lumbini for various ventures.

Bhim Suva Gurung, the President of the World Buddhist Religious Association, Rajan Basnet, the Information Officer, and Kamlesh Varma, the Chief of the Botanical Department, were also present at the welcome program.
