Ven. Nanda Mala Thero from India Donates to Support Lumbini Development Efforts

Lumbini, Nepal –Bhante Nanda Mala Thero, the revered monk from Sariputta Buddha Vihar in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, has donated INR 1,16,000 (equivalent to approximately NPR 1,85,000) to assist the ongoing development initiatives in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

This generous contribution will support the ongoing efforts led by the Lumbini Development Trust (LDT), an organization under the Government of Nepal dedicated to the promotion and preservation of this sacred site.

The donation ceremony was organized with the assistance of Mr. Rajan Basnet and Mr. Dilip Singh Kulung from the Information Section of the LDT. Upon receiving the contribution, Mr. Sanuraja Sakya, Member Secretary of the LDT, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ven. Nanda Mala Thero for his invaluable support and commitment. As a gesture of respect, Mr. Sakya presented the traditional Buddhist scarf to Bhante Nanda Mala Thero and his accompanying devotees.

Ven. Nanda Mala Thero commended the Trust's dedication to preserving Lumbini’s cultural and spiritual heritage, expressing deep satisfaction in being able to contribute to such a meaningful cause. He encouraged continued efforts in making Lumbini a global beacon of peace and spiritual learning.

The donation marks a meaningful step in fostering international collaboration in the preservation and development of one of Buddhism’s most sacred sites.
