November 09, 2016, Lumbini: Former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal visited Lumbini and observed various projects in progress in Lumbini and Kapilavastu area. He visited the office of Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) and inspected the buildings of LDT administrative block and Lumbini Visitors' Information Centre that are under construction on 7th November. He participated the Puja program at Lumbini Thai Monastery and observed the Buddhist sites of Kapilavastu and Ramagrama on the 8th. The visit of the former Prime Minister has brought a positive vibration in the region.
He was welcomed by the LDT in Lumbini and accompanied by LDT Vice Chairman Ven. Nigrogha, Project Chief Iman Singh Muktan and officials and provided information in all sites. The former Prime Minister Khanal expressed happiness to visit and pay homage to the holy birthplace of the Buddha Sakyamuni. Lumbini should be developed into international pilgrimage centre in a greater speed, he opined.
