December 10, 2017, Lumbini: Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta (Abhadesh Kumar Tripathi) took charge of Vice Chairman at Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) – Head Office in Lumbini today. He was appointed the Vice Chairman of the LDT by the Ministers' Cabinet meeting of 2074/08/14 (30 Nov. 2017). The newly appointed Vice Chair is a Buddhist monk and has been involved in spreading the Buddha's teachings in many ways. He is the founder of Karuna Girl's College Lumbini, Pragya Gurukul School Lumbini, Metta School Lumbini, Peace Grove Nunnery Lumbini and Bodhi Institute Lumbini where hundreds of notice, boys and girls receive formal as well as non-formal education.
The Management Team and Staff of the Trust today amid a formal welcome program organized by the Trust in the chair of Treasurer Surendra Muni Shakya welcomed the newly appointed Vice Chairman. Project Chief Er. Saroj Bhattarai in his welcome speech said that entire LDT team was with the Vice Chairman to implement his vision and mission and make his tenure a success. Executive Board Member Rajesh Gyawali expressed happiness to have a local, young and dynamic monk as a Vice Chair of the Trust.
Newly appointed Vice Chair Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta urged for the necessity of post-master plan preparation. He said that a holistic approach of a balanced development of Ramagrama-Devadaha sites and Kapilavastu sites was needed while developing Lumbini so that whole greater Lumbini region could be benefited simultaneously. He also asked all staff to work in such a way that the Lumbini Master Plan would complete soon and all could be proud of being a member or staff of the LDT. He also sought for positive and constructive cooperation from all staff to develop Lumbini in all round and make it one of the most beautiful pilgrimage destinations of the world.
Treasurer Surendra Muni Sakya expressed happiness to have Ven. Metteya as the Vice Chairman of Trust. He wished for a successful tenure of the Vice Chair and concluded the session. The program was conducted by Administrative Officer Chudamani Bhattarai.
