Lumbini Development Trust hosted a Bhojan Daana (Food Offering) Program at its new administrative complex to the monastic communities of Lumbini. More than 60 monks and nuns of different countries from Lumbini Monastic Zone and about 40 lay people were offered with vegetarian food amid a spiritual ceremony.
A formal program chaired by Vice-chairman of LDT Ven. Metteyya Sakyaputta (Abhadesh Kumar Tripathi) began with the chanting of Mahayana and Theravada Buddhist mantras for wellbeing of all sentient beings and world peace. Chief Guest of the function and the spiritual adviser of LDT Ven. Bhikkhu Maitri suggested opinions on development strategies to develop Lumbini as an international spiritual destination.
The monks and nuns raised several questions on their concerns for peaceful and spiritual environment of Lumbini in the discussion session. The Vice-chair Ven. Metteyya answered the questions and concerns of the monastics and sought for their kind cooperation to develop Lumbini into international Buddhist learning and practice centre. The Vice Chairman also thanked all monks, nuns and lay people for the participation and concluded the program. The program was conducted Dilip Singh Rai, the Official Tour Guide of the Trust.
Finally, Ven. Monks and Nuns were served hot vegetarian foods by the staff and officials of the Trust.
