Lumbini: His Excellency Peter Budd, Australian Ambassador to Nepal visited on January 31, 2018. Project Chief of Lumbini Development Trust Er. Saroj Bhattarai and LDT staff welcomed him at Lumbini Sacred Garden. The ambassador Budd paid homage to holy birthplace of the Buddha in Mayadevi temple and observed the moments and archaeological remains in the sacred complex. 

Official Tour Guide Dilip Singh Rai briefed the ambassador on the history, archaeology and spirituality of the Buddha's birthplace while the Project Chief Bhattarai made a debriefing about LDT's current development activities.      

The ambassador also had travelled to Kapilavastu to observe a project funded by the Embassy's Direct Aid Program at Nanda Nagar before visiting Lumbini.
