A Thai Pilgrimage Group under the name of “Vijit Dhammanuwat (Vong) Bhiksu led by General (Retd.) Nopparat Yodvimol visited Lumbini in pilgrimage on June 6, 2018. The delegates were accompanied by Major General Ramindra Chhetri of Nepal Army. The Thai Group was welcomed by the Treasurer Surendra Muni Shakya and officials including Acting Member Secretary Er. Saroj Bhattarai of Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) at Mayadeivi Temple gate. Information officer Rajan Basnet briefed the delegates on historic and archeological significances of Lumbini. 

The delegates worshiped the birthplace of the Buddha in Mayadevi Temple and prayed at Asoka Pillar. General Nopparat Yodvimol also donated an account payee check worth 31,065.55 US$ (Thirty-one thousand and sixty-five US dollars) to Lumbini Development Trust for the maintenance of Lord Buddha’s birthplace Mayadevi Temple. 

The LDT acknowledged the donation and appreciated the noble deed of merit. Treasurer Sakya presented a token of love to the delegation.
