Most Venerable Aggamahapandit Dr. Ashin Niyansara, from Myanmar visited the Buddha's birthplace Lumbini on April 25, 2022. Also best known as Sitagu Sayadaw, Ven. Ashin travels over the world to promote his humanitarian efforts and for interfaith dialogue. Lumbini Development Trust had opportunity to welcoming the Sayadaw in Lumbini.
Most Ven. Ashin and his entourage paid homage to the birthplace of the Buddha, visited international monasteries and museum in Lumbini while being in Lumbini.
Most Ven. Sitagu Sayadawgyi was awarded the title of LUMBINI SRISHOBHANA by the Government of Nepal through the LDT in recognition of Sitagu Sayadawgyi’s benevolent and humble contributions toward promoting the Buddha Sasana and humanitarian endeavors worldwide. He was conferred the title amid a formal program at Lumbini Sacred Garden.
Ven. Metteyya (Awadhesh Tripathi), the Vice Chairman of Trust admired the noble deeds of the Most Ven. Sayadaw endeavored through his organization Sitagu International Buddhist Academy for world peace and humanitarian cause.
