Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Hon. Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Chinese Ambassador His Excellency Chen Song visited Lumbini on April 11, 2023. Lumbini Development Trust welcomed the delegation in Lumbini.

The Deputy PM and Ambassador paid homage to the holy birthplace of the Buddha, observed the ancient heritages and visited the international monastic zone. Deputy PM Shrestha inquired about the latest development activities and tourist arrivals in Lumbini.

Ambassador Song also visited Tilaurakot. Tilaurakot is identified as the ancient Kapilavastu where Prince Siddhartha had spent 29 years of his early life. Vice Chair Metteyya had explained to the ambassador about the historicity of the site.
