Lumbini TikTok Challenge Award Distribution Program Completed

 

On June 19, 2023, Kathmandu: Lumbini Development Trust (LDT) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) jointly organized the Ghumau Lumbini TikTok Challenge Competition, which took place from the 10th of Baisakh to the 20th of Jestha, with the aim of attracting a large number of individuals to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautama Buddha. The first-place winner of the Lumbini TikTok Challenge Competition was Sachin Lodh, the second-place winner was Vishnu Pandey, and the third-place winner was Gokul Nakarmi, along with ten other outstanding creators were honored amid a formal program. Honorable Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, presented the awards, including cash prizes and certificates, to the first, second, and third-place winners, with amounts ranging from Rs. 150,000, Rs. 100,000, Rs. 50,000 respectively. Each of the other top ten creators were also awarded Rs. 10,000.

In the ceremony of the award distribution, State Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hon. Shushila Sripali Thakuri acknowledged Lumbini as the invaluable diamond of the nation but admitted that the significance of Lumbini could not be effectively disseminated worldwide. She thanked and congratulated all the participants in the competition for their efforts to contribute to the promotion of tourism in Lumbini. Speaking at the same event, Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board, expressed his firm belief that this competition, which has gained popularity in recent times, will play a significant role in the development of tourism in Lumbini.

Mr. Sanuraja Shakya, Member Secretary of the Lumbini Development Trust, appreciated the role played by this competition in delivering a concise message about the significance of Lumbini to all the winners and participants. He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Iru Tech Pvt. Ltd. for their exceptional support in successfully organizing this competition.

Mr. Sanuraja Shakya, the Secretary of the LDT, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the winners and participants for effectively conveying the importance of Lumbini to more than 20 million people through their short videos. He also extended special thanks to IruTech Pvt. Ltd. for their successful organization of the competition.

 

During the program, Vijay Barakoti provided detailed information on the significance of the competition, its achievements, and the selection process for the winners.

Honorable Minister Sudan Kirati in his brief speech, thanked all the organizers, the competitors, and the supporting institutions for their crucial roles in making this TikTok Challenge Competition impactful. He expressed his satisfaction with the successful completion of the event and the positive impact it had on the winners, even with the small amount of prize money, in boosting their morale.
