LDT has provided NPR 25 lakhs as assistance for earthquake-affected individuals in Jajarkot and Rukum West

Lumbini Development Trust has provided NPR 25 lakhs as assistance for earthquake-affected individuals in Jajarkot and Rukum West, which were struck by the devastating earthquake. The decision to provide immediate relief and assistance was made during a meeting at the Trust's secretariat.

Member Secretary Sanuraja Shakya explained that the decision to support the affected individuals through the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund was made in response to the human and physical losses expressed in the wake of the earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West.

Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation and Chairperson of the Fund, Sudan Kiranti, and Vice-Chairperson Dr. Lharkyal Lama transferred the assistance check to the Prime Minister. The LDT has also extended condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The earthquake, which occurred in the early hours of Friday on November 3, 2023 in Ramidanda, Jajarkot, resulted in the unfortunate loss of 153 lives in Jajarkot and Rukum West, as informed by the Ministry.
