Dr. Lharkyal Lama, Vice-Chair of the Lumbini Development Trust, has been elected as the President of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC). This preeminent international organization, affiliated with governments and Buddhists worldwide, chose Dr. Lama as its president.
The third convention of the World Buddhist Summit, held in India, witnessed the participation of Dr. Lama, who serves as the Vice-Chair of the Lumbini Development Trust. He has been elected as the President of the IBC, the most influential executive body within the permanent committee.
Dr. Lama has been serving as a member of the permanent committee since its establishment in 2011 until 2016. After being re-elected as an executive member in the second convention in 2017, he was once again re-elected, this time as Secretary.
